CONTROL - 6 (25%)
Makkelie had technically all under full control, but there was a visible lack of anticipation and, especially, prevention. He saw no need to talk with players at the end of the first half, when they began to play tougher. However, it was difficult to have a full control in a match, where one team (Morocco) was focused more on fouls and unsporting behaviours than on the game.
CALLS - 9 (40%)
Perfect match taking into consideration calls made by Makkelie in this game. Penalty to France and red to the Moroccan defender in 52nd minute were totally right decisions as well as a red card to Moroccan Yacine Qasmi for a nasty foul on French player in 57th minute. The non-given penalty to Morocco after accidental hand by one of the host players was also the great call (61st min). In summary, many difficult situations and a near-faultless performance.
NEUTRALITY - 9 (5%)
Moroccan players were protesting against referee calls all the match. They were wrong. It's a fact all decision were against Morocco, but were all correct. Only fault is Moroccan way of playing not referee's calls.
STYLE - 6 (25%)
Young with great presence, fantastic gestures and large dose of calm. All is brilliant, but in this match we also saw a visible lack of anticipation and prevention, that define the class of referee. Makkelie is still young and a big talent for sure, but it's of course a lot of room for improvement.
MATCH DIFFICULTY - 8 (5%)
Nasty way of playing by Moroccan team, many difficult situation to solve.

ASSISTANT REFEREE 1 - 7,0
Not challenged so much, a few correct offside signalizations.

ASSISTANT REFEREE 2 - 8,0
Also not especially challenged, but one important call when disallowed an offside goal to France in 69th minute. Some correct offside signalizations.

4TH OFFICIAL - 8,5
Good reaction to protests, nice cooperation with main referee.
